Get the Look for Less: The Kimono

Translated, 'kimono' literally means a 'thing to wear' but this traditional T-shaped straight-lined robe, usually worn to the ankle, is a great alternative to a cardigan or lightweight jacket - making it perfect for the upcoming spring weather. Adding a kimono jacket to your wardrobe is a great investment, it is a perfect and easy way to style up several kinds of outfit, whether it be from jeans and a tee or a special occasion LBD. It is excellent for mix and matching outfits and comes in many different fabrics and patterns. 

This traditionally Japanese garment has been seen on celebrities such as Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus on the red carpet and on the catwalk for Spring/Summer 2012. 

  

Luckily for us it has sparked interest onto the streets with our favourite retailers following suit such as Asos, H&M and Topshop to name a few.
